Peanut Butter And Pretzel Sandwich

The Peanut Butter and Pretzel Sandwich is a somewhat surprising food creation for Homer. While it’s not the healthiest choice for lunch, it certainly doesn’t compare to something like Moon Waffles. Peanut butter has protein and good fats, while pretzels are a fairly healthy snack. The white bread is the only truly unhealthy ingredient.

Before making this sandwich, I didn’t realize that Peanut Butter and Pretzel was a “thing”. Apparently Synder’s even sell pre-built pretzel peanut butter bites – so there you go. Additionally, putting “nontraditional” toppings on sandwiches and burgers like French fries or potato chips is popular right now. So, adding pretzels to a sandwich is actually quite trendy.

Ingredients

  • White Bread
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pretzels (Note: I used pretzel sticks for easier assembly, but if you enjoy total anarchy I suppose twisted pretzels could be used)

Directions

Spread peanut butter evenly onto both slices of bread. Assemble pretzels onto sandwich.

While the taste was pretty good, there were one major negative against this sandwich. It was incredibly salty since it includes both peanut butter and salted pretzels, making it almost impossible to eat. If you’re going to make this sandwich make sure you have a glass of water or milk nearby because you are going to need it. I wanted to add some sweetness to balance out the saltiness and I suddenly had an incredible idea, why not add some sort of jelly to the sandwich?! The Peanut Butter and Pretzel Sandwich was ok, but the Peanut Butter, Jelly and Pretzel Sandwich was amazing.

Peanut butter and potato chip sandwiches were a huge thing in my house when I was a kid. Peanut butter and butter too.

I’m also a fan of adding fries inside a burger when the situation allows it.
