Spaghetti and Moe-Balls

The Simpsons | Season 7 - Episode 4

There doesn’t seem to be much mystery to the Spaghetti and Moe-balls from Uncle Moe’s Family Feedbag – they look just like regular spaghetti and meatballs. The fact that Homer wants to eat them suggests they are tasty, although he has been known to eat rotting food so I’m not sure how reliable his opinion is. One thing I noticed about the Spaghetti and Moe-balls is that they weren’t served with garlic toast, the hallmark bread served at every chain restaurant!

I decided to make some decent, but not amazing, “family restaurant style” spaghetti and meatballs. An Italian nonna would probably be less than impressed with what I made, but I think this would be acceptable for Uncie Moe.


  • Ground beef
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • 1 Egg
  • Mustard
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Spaghetti
  • Crushed Tomatoes


Combine onion and garlic with ground beef, add salt and pepper. Add egg and bread crumbs to the beef and form meatballs. Bring water to a boil and cook spaghetti al dente while browning the meatballs in a pan. Drain spaghetti and mix with crushed tomatoes and heat in a pan until combined. Serve with cooked Moe-balls.


I’m sure my Spaghetti and Moe-balls aren’t the same caliber as what they serve at The Spaghetti Laboratory, but it was still tasty. The meatballs are the real star of this dish, since no one wants to eat a plate of spaghetti with tomato sauce. But when you add meatballs to almost anything it becomes more delicious. Isn’t that right Homer?

Adds flavor! Try it the next time you make meatballs / hamburgers.


Still better than the crap from a can (that is as cold as Agnes’s love for her son) that Luigi would serve you— unless, of course, you have large magumbos.


I think I fall more along the Mr. Kookalamanza and/or some real ugly kid territory, so looks like I’m getting crap from a can.
