Cupid’s Ambrosia

It always amazes me how much people are willing to spend on Valentine’s Day. It reminds of another touchy feely holiday, but this one is somehow ingrained into society. But, if I’m going to spend money on Valentine’s Day my first priority is definitively booze over things like jewelry or flowers.

Moe’s Cupid’s Ambrosia includes ChapStick, but why? Is it supposed to add extra flavor to the drink or it is just one of those “jokes” that occasionally show up in later seasons of The Simpsons. ChapStick does make a strawberry variety…but I couldn’t find any at my local drug store. Since there is essentially no difference between lip balm brands (especially when it comes to the fruit varieties) I bought the Nivea brand instead.

Ingredients

  • 1 Ounce Jägermeister
  • 3 Ounces Pink Lemonade
  • 1 Slice of Strawberry ChapStick

Directions

Pour Jägermeister directly into a martini glass, top with pink lemonade. Add strawberry ChapStick.

I think the picture says it all…but I’m going to say it anyway. Floating lip balm is not an appetizing addition to any kind of beverage. The Jägermeister and pink lemonade mix surprisingly well. I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink this again, but considering that Moe’s previous idea of a tropical drink involves Windex…I mean Windel – this is an improvement.

Any plans on doing a single plum floating in perfume, served in a man’s hat?
