Bully Chase Snack

The Bully Chase Snack

Since I wasn’t technically a NERRRRRRRRDDD in school I never had to flee from bullies. Thus I never had to eat such a bizarre snack as a hard boiled egg and prune juice. But from a nutritional standpoint, should you eat The Bully Chase Snack after you’ve been running while wearing shoes that correct fallen arches?

Prune Juice Nutrition Info (1 cup)
Good: Low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium, also a good source of Vitamin B6, Potassium and Manganese.
Bad: A large portion of the calories in this food come from sugars.

Boiled Egg Nutrition Info (1 egg)
Good: good source of Riboflavin, Vitamin B12 and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Protein and Selenium.
Bad: High in Saturated Fat, and very high in Cholesterol.

So this is actually a pretty decent snack option after a run. It includes carbohydrates and protein, which according to this one article I read is a good thing. The sugar is probably the worst aspect of this snack, but I don’t know how anyone could drink an entire cup of prune juice while eating a hard boiled egg anyway.

Ingredients

  • 1 Egg
  • Prune Juice

Directions

Boil egg for approximately 15 minutes. Peel the shell off and consume with a cool glass of prune juice.

The Bully Chase Snack is one of the weirdest combinations of food I have ever eaten. The sulfur smell from the egg, the thickness of the prune juice – this was quite unpleasant. I suppose for true authenticity I should have gone for a run and then eaten this, but I really don’t think the results would be favorable so that’s not going to happen.

Pfft, forget it, Duck. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human bloodstream.
